After the surprising news that Paula Abdul will not be returning this season as a judge on “American Idol”, now comes the even more surpising news of who will be replacing her! Talk show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres will be joining Simon, Randy, and Kara to judge this season. Ellen will begin after the audition rounds which have featured some other celebrities as guest judges including Shania Twain, Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Joe Jonas and Kristin Chenoweth. Ellen is very excited and has been quoted as saying “I’m going to have a day job and a night job” and her “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” will continue as usual. I think this is very exciting news! Maksim and Karina from “Dancing With The Stars” have not only called off their engagement, they have also completely ended their relationship. Maksim Chmerkovskiy 29 and Karina Smirnoff 31 got engaged on New Years’ Day in Las Vegas. Sources said to PEOPLE that the couple did not see eye to eye on when to have children stating that Maksim was ready while Karina was not and as the two were together they realized these differences. The two still both care about each other and will continue to work closely together in this upcoming season of “Dancing With The Stars” which premieres on September 21.

It is being reported that Christina Milian and rapper boyfriend The Dream married last week in Las Vegas. They married at the same chapel as Britney Spears and Jason Alexander back in 2004, The Little White Wedding Chapel. According to the marriage license the couple said “I Do” at 12:00a.m. Christina rented a wedding gown for $200 and he rented his tux for $100. Congrats to the happy couple!

The funeral of DJ AM 36, was held yesterday September 02, 2009 in Los Angeles. It was a small funeral attended by family members, close friend Travis Barker and girlfriend at the time of his death Hayley Wood.  The private ceremony was held at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in West Los Angeles.  AM is buried in one of the cities most prominent Jewish cemeteries near the graves of Jack Benny, Milton Berle, and Michael Landon. A memorial service for friends and family will be held today at the Hollywood Palladium. The cause of death will still not be known for a couple of weeks.

It does not come as much of a surpise but LeAnn Rimes took to her website to announce that her and husband Dean Sheremet will be divorcing. This announcement comes after months of speculation that her affair with actor Eddie Cibrian has broken up both of their marriages. Here is what she had to say on the website “After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage,” “This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for one another.”
“Thank you so much for all of your continued love and support – it is deeply appreciated.” LeAnn is nothing but a homewrecker and Eddie will probably end up cheating on her too!

A private memorial for DJ AM born Adam Goldstein is set to be on Thursday night in Los Angeles. It will be held in the kind of nightclub that the disc jockey regularly rocked. The memorial will begin at 7:00p.m. at the Hollywood Palladium, the same place where DJ AM played alongside his admirer Jay Z in his first performance since his plane crash. Instead of sending flowers, AM’s family suggests donating to two of his favorite charities. They include National MS Society, Southern California Chapter, or Friendly House. Friendly House is a drug treatment center for women and DJ AM’s used to show up at their luncheons. Rest In Peace DJ AM.

On Saturday Jon Gosselin hosted a much hyped up pool party at MGM Wet Republic in Las Vegas. Nowhere to be found was girlfriend Hailey Glassman. He chose to have his mother accompany him instead. It was 115 degrees that day and it wasn’t long before Jon was surrounded by bikini clad women. Jon seemed at ease when some of the women approached his cabana to hang out with him. They sipped on champagne and water and trays of food. Some women were not so happy to see him, one woman yelled when he walked on to the red carpet “Team Kate!” He hung at the pool until about 5:00 p.m. and then was seen dining at Craftsteak with his mother and some friends, later he checked out Cirque du Soleil’s Ká.
