Tiger Woods and Elin’s Divorce Finalized

The divorce of pro golfer Tiger Woods and wife Elin is final. The couple had been going through a rough time since is now famous car crash in November of 2009 which started the revelations of his extra marital affairs. The golfer publicly admitted his infidelities which included many women. The settlement was not made public but the media has been saying Elin would receive up to 100 million in the settlement. The couple released a pubic statement saying “We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us. Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.” The couple will share custody of the two children Sam Alexis, 3, and Charlie Axel, 18 months. The news comes as no surprise as the couple had already been living separate lives for months. The divorce papers state the marriage was “irretrievably broken”. Elin asked that her name be restored to her maiden name Elin Maria Pernilla Nordegren.
