Singer Jewel had a few things to say about dancer Melissa Rycroft who last week wasn't able to dance because of a hairline fracture on her rib. Jewel seems to think that if she is too injured to dance then she should have to leave the show like she did at the beginning of the season. I don't think she means to be mean by her recent comments, maybe she has a little bit of jealousy or something. Here is what she was quoted as saying recently on her husband Ty Murray's myspace page. Do you agree?

Quote:
“I think the rule about ‘judging a rehearsal if the person is too injured to perform’ was weird both times they have used it,” “As bad as I felt for Melissa, who I hope feels better and comes back, I’m used to our cowboy athletes that live by the rule: ‘ride hurt or don’t get a score,’” Jewel writes. “It may seem harsh, but it seems like the only way to keep things honest.”

“But,” she adds, “if I were to be on the show I might change my mind. Hahah!” –Eunice Oh

Sounds like a good rule for the cowboys... "ride hurt or don't get a score" ... if that's what they came up with and they all agree... but... it also sounds like a good rule to give everyone 1 missed performance on dancing with the stars... then if they miss anymore than that, they are off the show. That's my opinion, guess it's because I like the way Melissa Rycroft dances.

If she had both of her legs amputated instead of having a hairline fracture, would they wait for her to learn to walk on new prosthetic legs to continue the show ?

No of course not. An injury is an injury, the show must go on.

Ha ha good comparison Tunaberry. Yeah I know what you mean, I think the show did the right thing when they let Steve O and Melissa be judged on their rehearsal performance. I don't know what the big deal is or why Jewel cares so much, you know her husband is Ty Murray and I'm sorry to say but he is obviously not gonna win the competition. He has improved but he doesn't have what it takes to win it all, so I think she should just sit on the sidelines like she does and keep her opinions to herself.

Jewel thinks that the media has twisted and taken her words out of context. She says she has nothing agains Melissa and thinks that she is a gifted dancer. She said she was confused by the show's system and not by the actual participants.

Quote:
“Gossip columns hijacked and put words in my mouth!” she wrote on Friday. “I like Melissa and think she’s gifted… and I adore Steve-O. My comment had nothing to do with either of them.”

Well, Steve-O is no stranger to working injured anyway come to think of it.

Yeah I know! Crazy that some of his worst injuries were on Dancing With The Stars, considering all the crazy stunts that he had done in his lifetime. You should learn to dance Tunaberry.

You don't have to dance on a stage.
