Legendary NFL analyst John Madden is retiring! The 73-year-old Madden has decided he's good and ready to retire from his position as the voice behind NBC's Sunday night football broadcast. The ex-football coach has worked as an NFL analyst for all four major networks with his career spanning over 30 years! That is a long time in one job!! He must have really loved his job! I hope John will enjoy his retirement! I am sure going to miss his voice while watching Sunday Night football!

Quote:
Madden released a statement on Thursday saying "this is the right time" for him to retire.

It's probably a good thing. The guy is great and all, but with how excited he was all the time he could be having a stroke live during Monday Night Football and people would just assume he was describing some strange new play.

The sad part is, there would be at least one drunk bastard who would jump up from his seat during the stroke and proclaim "Maddens a genius! You gotta attack the heart, the defence! I love this guy!".
