Knowing

I just got home from the new Nicolas Cage movie called "Knowing". It is about an MIT Professor who acquires a special sheet of paper with a special arrangement of numbers. The sheet of paper comes from his son's school which just had its 50th anniversary. In honor of the 50th anniversary the students and teachers open up a time capsule from the students of 50 years ago. Kaleb, the son recieves the paper that has the sequence of numbers. From then on Nicolas Cage's character realizes the number sequence meaning. I thought the movie was good at the beginning but got a little bit out there towards the end.

The previews looked good.

Is Knowing similar to the National Treasure series of movies Cage was in ?
They seem like they share a lot of the same plot concepts.

I got Knowing on Netflix the day it was released and just now got around to watching it. I really liked it for the most part. I gave it 4/5 stars at Netflix.

I agree this wasn't similar to National Treasure, Knowing has more religious undertones whereas National Treasure was more about secret societies. The Jehovah's Witness references in Knowing start to get really obvious towards the end. The creepy guys who kept coming to their house and trying to get the kids to come with them were kinda funny once I realized that.
