This movie is based on events from the director Brian Goodman's life. The movie stars Mark Ruffalo as Brian and Ethan Hawke as Paulie who are friends that grew up like brothers on the streets of south Boston. They will do whatever it takes to survive which includes committing petty thefts which will grow into more seriousl offenses as they get older. It becomes organized crime under their boss Pat Kelly which is played by Brian Goodman. Brian becomes lost in drugs and dangerous crimes that not even the love from his wife, played by Amanda Peet, and children can help him out of.
