British singer Leona Lewis was punched in the today at a signing of her new book in London. She was signing copies of her autobiography "Dreams" when a man from the line came up and hit her in the head. He was immediately led away by security guards and later arrested. The attack was said to be totally "unprovoked" and an "understandably badly shaken" Lewis went to see a doctor after the incident as a precaution. Leona Lewis became famous when she won the "X Factor" reality show in 2006 and in 2008 became the first British woman to top the US charts for more than 20 years with her single "Bleeding Love". The 29 year old man who hit her is still in custody.

Today Leona had this to write on her website about the incident yesterday

I can't believe that this man just went right up and puncher her for no reason. I feel so bad for her that must have just been awful. I heard that the man is still being held in jail and is being mentally evaluated.
