The Office: Does Anyone Care Anymore?

Of course people appreciate The Office. Jim and Pam are quite possibly the most-rooted-for couple on the face of the earth, Dwight is an endless delight and Michael is the love-to-hate, hate-to-love boss of the century. But how invested are viewers in the show, now that it's in. The Office 5th season? Sure, ratings are still high, but do viewers watch because they love every minute of every character's life, or because they're so heavily invested in the storyline that they just have to follow along? The Office was tailored to American culture soon after Jim molded Dwight's stapler into Jello.
