Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter who met and play a brother and sister on Showtime’s hit show Dexter have decided to end their two-year marriage. The couple tied the knot on December 31, 2008 and Carpenter stood by her husband’s side as he completed treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma earlier this year. A rep for the couple told Entertainment Weekly that “Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce.” The rep added that the split was amicable. The announcement comes just one day after Carpenter attended the season finale party of Dexter Season 5 without her husband.

The 38 year old was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which is one of the most curable types of cancer. he is currently in remission and says that “I feel fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition.” “I thank my doctors and nurses for their expertise and care.” He will continue with his scheduled treatments and will also be attending the Golden Globes on Sunday for which he is nominee. His wife and “Dexter” costar Jennifer Carpenter who plays his sibling by adoption on the show will accompany him to the awards show. The two married at the end of 2008 on the sly.
