Lindsay Lohan, 24 was sentenced today to 120 days in jail and 480 hours of community service because of a probation violation. Lohan allegedly shoplifted a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, California, jewelry store on January 22. She was facing felony charges but instead charged with a misdemeanor. Lohan will do her community service at a women’s center in downtown Los Angeles. Her bail as been set at $75,000 and it is likely that she will be bailed out within the next couple of hours.

In a Beverly Hills courthouse on Friday September 24 Lindsay Lohan was sent back to jail by a judge because she failed a drug test. She tested positive for cocaine and adderall during a court ordered drug test last week in which Lohan acknowledged via twitter saying “Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps. This is certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences.” Lindsay won’t be getting released early because this time she is being held by the court until October 22 for her next hearing. Sources close to Lohan say that she wasn’t expecting the judge to be so harsh on her and thought that she would at least be granted bail. It is being reported that she is being very cooperative.
UPDATE: Judge Elden Fox had issued a “no bail” ruling but that was overturned because Lindsay’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley filed an appeal and won and Lohan’s bail was set at $300,000. Lohan posted her bail and is now a free woman although she does have to wear another SCRAM bracelet and isn’t allowed in bars or clubs.

Lindsay Lohan’s mother Dina Lohan has decided to speak out about her daughters recent stay in jail and her current stay in rehab. She did an interview with Matt Lauer of The Today Show. In the video you will see that a couple of times throughout the interview she seems upset and uses the phrase “hardball” a lot when describing Lindsay’s punishment.

Lindsay Lohan was booked into jail on Tuesday to begin serving her 90 day sentence. Due to overcrowding in the jails it is likely that Lohan will only serve about 14 days. She is in Lynwood California’s Century Regional Detention Center, released inmate Tiffany Hawes saw Lindsay and spoke to RadarOnline telling them that “Lindsay was crying when she came in. She was handcuffed, but seemed calm. We all started saying ‘God bless you Lindsay,’ and saying ‘Hi’ to her and then she smiled at us.” For dinner that night Lindsay was served an un-Spago-like combo of turkey tetrazzini, apple sauce, broccoli and coleslaw. When Lindsay got to the facility they had a lock down for 60 minutes in which she was given a strip search and a body cavity search.

Lindsay Lohan was at Voyeur nightclub to celebrate her 24th birthday when she claimed waitress Jasmine Waltz punched her. Lohan took to her twitter account saying “A waitress just hit me – punched me for no reason.” Now Jasmine Waltz is firing back saying that she didn’t lay a hand on Lindsay but she would like to. Waltz is quoted as saying “All I have to say is that disturbed little train wreck is delusional. I didn’t hit her. But I’d like to.” Jasmine Waltz has dated Danny Cipriani, Ryan Seacrest, Jesse McCartney and Chris Pine, among others. Apparently the argument between Lohan and Waltz is linked to a love triangle over British rugby player Danny Cipriani. Looks like Lindsay will always remember her 24th birthday!

The announcement that the “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ show will be renamed to “Kate Plus 8″ and that Jon will no longer be a regular on the show he is lashing out at TLC. Today his attorney Mark Heller, who has also represented the father of Lindsay Lohan, released the following statement “As legal counsel for Jon Gosselin, I am totally confident that he will be completely successful in his quest to take back control of his family and preserve, protect and ensure their future well-being by putting the brakes on his divorce and pulling the plug on TLC, the media giant that he perceives as a monster that has exploited and manipulated his family and has been partially responsible for the breakdown of his marriage.

Jon is resolved not to allow the TLC Corporate machine to devour his family and promote the monster’s best interests over those of his family. TLC and Discovery have been reputed to have generated approximately $186 million dollars for the quarter – compliments of the Gosselin Family, and Jon firmly believes that their greed to continue that cash flow will be trumped by his courage and determination to protect his family.”
